When we checked it (9 to 11 October 2026) these firms were listed as authorised electronic money institutions: WorldRemit Ltd, which also trades as SendWave (FRN 900891), Taptap Send UK Limited (FRN 900842) and Remitly U.K., Ltd (FRN 1047222). E-money firms must keep customer money separate from their own, but the Financial Services Compensation Scheme does not cover them, and the UK scam reimbursement scheme does not cover international payments.
